I finished this up late last night and I have mixed emotions.
Essentially, this is a take on the classic murder mystery. This group of friends had all gathered together for a wedding the year prior. Sadly, the tormented younger sister is found the morning of the wedding, swimming with the fishes. Literally. Everyone could have a possible motive; but who could have actually committed such a heinous crime?
A year later, to the date, all the friends are gathered for a recreation of the feast that occurred the night before the wedding, also known as the night before the drowning, only this time nobody’s laughing or smiling.
As I reflect on this story my thoughts are that the ending was a bit fuzzy and felt rushed. I’m not really sure who killed the sister, if indeed anybody truly did. Although the entirety of the story up until the last 20 pages or so was stellar. The ending lacked luster earning this piece 4 stars instead of 5.
