Here’s the skinny on the plot. I could tell right away that the husband was a conniving SOB by the way he manhandled and manipulated Sarah, his wife, into giving up her inheritance from her mum to put towards a down payment on a house whose name was ripped right out of the headlines, Murder House. Adequately named, leaving the reader to wonder if the cold spots in the house are natural or Super-natural.
*Spoiler Alert
I literally just finished this and disappointment is thrumming through my veins. I didn’t understand the ending. Was Tom dead or not? Does her use of the wording ‘move on’ imply his spirit could move on? Or did Mz. Savage mean moving on, as a frame of mind? Moving on could also mean a change in geography.
Either way you flip this 3-headed coin it still would not be a big enough twist to earn this story more than 3-stars. I was really, really hoping for a good ghost story and was left still wanting…
