Rated R for strong sexual content

I attempted to re-read this novel as part of my amends readings. Even I can admit when sometimes I’m too quick to judge a book. However, my second go through brought me to page 157 before it dropped me forever.

This story was about a day in age when humans became accepting of vampires. Thinking it cool to go to vampire bars and such where their lives were truly in more danger than they ever realized. Just because vampires became socially acceptable to humans didn’t mean they all started playing nice.

Other than wanting to be besties with a vampire the humans threw themselves at the vampires in a totally sexual way. Identifying as ‘fang-bangers.’ Insert your imagination here.

It seems that Sookie, the main human gal, had met her first vampire ever, and was super duper excited. This story reminded me of Twilight, (which is weird because this story came out before Twilight hit the stands) in that Sookie, the human gal could read minds, like Twilight’s main vampire could read minds. That part is a bit switched up from story to story; but still, do you see the correlation? Also, both stories had human girls falling in love with vampires.

After having slept on it I found I had no desire to return to the pages. If this is your cup of tea more power to ya.
