I was promised humor on the back cover, unfortunately me and the author have differing ideas of what’s funny.
So what happened was John was married to Susan and Susan was caught diddling the next door neighbor, a mafia Don. John and wife divorce but stay living on the same property, although John has been overseas much of that time.
But now he’s back.
After breaking the nuptials the wife kills the don, and John goes to the don’s funeral because he was actually in the middle of representing the don on charges of murder. And now the don’s son is at John’s front door. I didn’t read any further to understand the purpose of the visit.
Weird.
I felt it was written in a way that made me feel like I should have started the book already knowing what was going on.
