I chose this book because Oprah Daily said it was fun as hell to read and apparently it won a Pulitzer Prize. I wonder if they read the same book that I did.
I didn’t understand the point of the story. It was split into 4 separate stories. I read the first and just when it was getting interesting there was an abrupt and sad ending.
The second story seemed to be giving a genealogy of a long line of financiers dating back to the early 1800’s. It was written without emotion and was more like Mr. Diaz laid out cold hard facts instead of setting up a nice cozy reading experience. If you have the wherewithal, I say go for it and let me know what you think.
