Sing Her Down

Date: November 8, 2024

Author: Ivy Pochoda

Genre: crime fiction, thriller, contemporary western

Good day all! I read this book almost straight through, in one sitting. The cover claimed a modern-day western and I agree.

This story took place starting in Arizona and made its way to LA during the pandemic. Two women prisoners were released early due to the coronavirus. The prison board could not have chosen two more undeserving women for early release.

They reminded me of Peter Griffin and the chicken tumbling through the deserted deserts of the west coast and into the nearly empty streets of Los Angeles.

Because, as already stated, this took place during the pandemic, so everyone was on lockdown while the discarded masks blew through the streets like tumbleweeds.

I found this book entertaining, though a bit dark.
